“Dog days of summer” Where does that phrase come from?

The Romans referred to the dog days and associated the hot weather with the star Sirius. They considered Sirius to be the “Dog Star” because it is the brightest star in the constellation: Canis Major (Large Dog).

The Dog Days originally were the days when Sirius rose just before or at the same time as the sun, which is no longer true.  The Romans sacrificed a red dog in April to appease the rage of Sirius, believing that the star was the cause of the hot, sultry weather.

So enjoy these last few lazy, hazy days of summer, but don’t forget to use good posture!

Cars need tune ups after so many miles, what about our bodies?

If you have had a nagging problem with you back, neck, shoulder or knee; why not come in for a tune up?

Often, just a few visits to get things back on track can prevent a full blown exacerbation.
